at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia invites applications for full-time, tenure-track positions of Assistant Professor in Education, in education policy studies, economics of education, organizational studies, leadership studies, psychometrics, and sociology of education. The knowledge of Russian is not required as teaching and research are both conducted in English.

Requirements 

Candidates must hold a recent PhD in education or related fields from a research-intensive university, or be receiving a PhD prior to the agreed Contract Starting Date. Successful candidates will engage in high-impact and diversified research qualifying for publication in reputable peer-reviewed journals, with comprehensive academic guidance and support provided by IOE and other University divisions. The appointments will be typically made for three years in the first instance, starting September 2018, and may be subject to renewal based on positive evaluation of one’s teaching and research activities.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary is competitive, indexed to inflation on an annual basis, and subject to a 13% flat income tax. The University offers free health insurance, comprehensive induction & adaptation programs, including language support, and other social benefits; travel support and other research assistance are generous. Since we have a heavy emphasis placed on high-quality research, the teaching load of newly hired faculty is relatively low and service expectations are minimal.
