IOE Researcher Diana Koroleva Joins Editorial Team of the Journal of Information, Communication and Ethics in Society

The Journal of Information, Communication and Ethics in Society was set up in 2003. It has become a well-known international place for different types of research to be shared about how digital technology is changing society and which ethical questions are arising. The journal is indexed in major global academic databases, including Scopus, Web of Science, Crossref, and ScienceDirect, ensuring broad visibility and accessibility of its publications to the international research community.
In her role as Associate Editor, Diana Koroleva will contribute to shaping the journal’s academic agenda, overseeing the peer-review process, and supporting the publication of high-quality research from scholars around the world.
Becoming an editor is a very interesting and new experience for me. I have long been publishing as an author in high-ranked academic journals, and I also had experience editing a book. However, being on the other side and observing internal processes as an editor is truly fascinating.
One of the first things that stands out is the constant flow of submissions—there are really many of them, coming from all over the world. At the same time, one of the major challenges for journals and editors today is the growing use of AI-generated text. Our journal has its own policy on AI: it is not prohibited, but it must be used responsibly and clearly disclosed.
Overall, I find this role very engaging. It is also a great opportunity to stay up to date and closely follow emerging research trends”, says Diana Koroleva, sharing her experience.
