Dmitry Kurakin's participated in the American Sociological Association Conference

Dmitry Kurakin was a presider of round table «Novel Theoretical Approaches to Social Life» and has presented his paper «Mystery, Culture, and Cognition: Towards a Sociological Understanding of Mystery Within the 'Cognitive Turn' Debate» at the 115th Annual Meeting of American Sociological Association which was held online on 8-11th of August, 2020.

In his paper he explored sociology of mustery in the context of current cognitive turn in the social sciences. He talked about how investigation of detective stories and unsolved mysteries that trigger collective interest, can become a resource we can use to understand the link between culture and cognition.
