Summarizing the results of the working seminar of Institute for Educational Studies HSE in Suzdal (June 9 – 11, 2012)

The researchers of the Institute for Educational Studies participated in a working seminar in Suzdal aiming to improve their qualification. It took place at the beginning of June, 2012.

The researchers of the Institute for Educational Studies participated in a working seminar in Suzdal aiming to improve their qualification. It took place at the beginning of June, 2012.

Lections and practical tasks held by foreign members of the Institute were the key point of the program.

During the seminar Academic Supervisor of the International Laboratory for Education Policy Analysis professor Martin Carnoy presented a lecture on "Economy of education", discussed with the researchers the current questions in their paper work and gave a number of recommendations. In addition Prashant Loyalka, the leading researcher of the laboratory, read two lections devoted to "Casualty and randomized experiments" and "Analyzing the casual chain".

A great amount of practical work was involved in order to cope with the newly acquired theoretical knowledge.

Scientific projects, future strategy of development and current organizational questions were discussed in the free time. Moreover the experts shared their professional experience and view of the actual problems in the field of education.
