Working seminar in the framework of PIAAC in Paris (France) January, 14-18, 2013

Yulia Tyumeneva, Senior researcher of the International Laboratory for Educational Policy Research HSE Graduate School of Education,  participated and performed at the scientific seminar devoted to PIAAC (Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies).

OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Developmenthttp://www.oecd.org/)  was an organizer of the event, which took place in Paris (France).

The work at the seminar was mainly focused on PIAAC database analyses.

The following topics were discussed during the Working seminar:

1.     Acquaintance with PIAAC methods and procedures and their implication in the analyses.

2.     Training on using the IDB Analyzer with the PIAAC database.

3.     Training on practical application of the knowledge and instruments for verification of the data, which will be used in international PIAAC report.

After the results of the Working seminar it is planned to consider PIAAC analytical tools as class assignment for the students of HSE Graduate School of Education master program “Measurement in Psychology and Education”.

Practical application of acquired knowledge and skills will enable to fulfill domestic and international PIAAC database analyses on a descent level.
