Expert Discussion 2. «Rise of Private EdTech – will universities become obsolete?»

We would like to invite you to participate in the first autumn Expert Discussion of the Observatory on Higher Education Transformations. Second topic of discussion: "Rise of Private EdTech – will universities become obsolete?". The Session will be done in three parts: thee 20-minute presentations from speakers, 20-minute Q&A session followed by the expert discussion: experts will share their opinion on selected topics.

Discussion outline (the questions are only aimed for giving a start to a discussion, the speakers are free to approach the topic form a different perspective):

1. Dynamics and trends in private EdTech in 2020-2021
2. Direct and indirect reasons for changes at the global education market
3. Is the role and mission of universities changing? What are the reasons and biggest challenges for universities in terms of their role and mission?
4. What universities can learn from EdTech? What are the most promising ways of cooperation between private EdTech and higher education institutions?
