Giving oath near the monument to the anonymous reviewer, quest around the departments of the Institute, historical tour around the surrounding area – that is how the Day of Knowledge went for the first-year students of the master’s degree programmes “Measurement in Psychology and Education” and “Evidence-based Educational Policy”.

On the 22th of August, 2017 there was a lecture in the Moscow’s Central Children’s Shop. Nadezhda Knyaginina, junior researcher at the Center for Educational Law of the HSE Institute of Education, talked about children’s rights and why adults should treat them with respect.

Szymon Jankiewicz, Director of the Center for Educational Law has published his article “Legal regulation of licensing and state accreditation of the adapted programs in higher education” in the Legal Studies Journal.

Dr. Jan de Groof, a world-renowned authority on international & comparative education law who is Professor with the College of Europe (Bruges, Belgium) and Tilburg University (the Netherlands), and also heads the European Association for Education Law and Policy (ELA), has recently joined the HSE Institute of Education as Academic Supervisor with the Centre for Education Law. During his recent visit to Moscow, we talked to Dr. de Groof about today’s top-priority education law agenda and the way multiple stakeholders’ commitments to striking a better balance in education rights help carve out more robust paths to global sustainability.

On April 7, 2017, at the invitation of the Institute for Education and the Faculty of Law at the Higher School of Economics, professor Jan De Groof read a lecture "Modern and Future Challenges in Educational Law and Educational Rights, especially in Russia''.

Within the Federal Education Development Program for 2016-2020, the HSE Institute of Education’s specialists have developed a series of exemplary educational programs for parents. First seminars on this topic were held at the end of February 2017. Specialists discussed the main ideas, structure and peculiarities of working with parents.

Moscow State Pedagogical University hosted a coordination meeting on the 2-4th of October, 2017. The topic of the meeting was "Introducing Modules on Law and Rights in Programs of Teacher Training and Educational Sciences: a Contribution to Building Rights-Based Education Systems in Countries in Transition".

During the meeting on the topic of Education and Culture as basis for national identity the working group was discussing problems of introducing mechanisms of personalized financing of additional education in the regions.

The meeting was focused on a question concerning the adoption of the new version of the school regulations.
