Postdoctoral Fellowships in Sociology of Education
The Higher School of Economics' INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION in Moscow, Russia invites applications for postdoctoral fellowships in Sociology of Education.
Position Summary:
- Working under direct supervision of Dr. Dmitry Kurakin, Director of the Center for Cultural Sociology and Anthropology of Education
- Pursuing independent research along with contributing to the Center’s projects in the following broad areas:
- educational choice and educational decisions
- inequality in education in late modernity
- culture in education
- anthropology of education
- sociology of online education
- Working within the ‘Trajectories in Education and Career’ longitudinal project
- Writing research papers for international peer-reviewed journals, including in co-authorship with the Center's staff
- Teaching is encouraged, though not mandatory.
Requirements:
- PhD from an international research university in such fields as: sociology of education, cultural sociology
- Strong background in social theory, social research methodology, qualitative or quantitative methods, mixed methods research
- Ability to work in a team
- Fluent English, knowledge of Russian is required if you wish to work with qualitative data
- Research experience.
