Russian Education Research Association Joins WERA
Russian Education Research Association (RERA) has started its membership in World Education Research Association (WERA). All formalities were completed and a membership decision was made during this year’s WERA Global Congress that was held in Cape Town, South Africa in early August.
Joining WERA marks an important milestone for the Russian education research space. This alliance is set to unlock new prospects for top-tier academic networking and further integration into the global professional community, including through expanded access to leading expert forums, grant competitions, best international journals, etc. Earlier this year, RERA also completed negotiations to join European Education Research Association (EERA).
Russian Educational Research Association was established in 2017 by the HSE Institute of Education, Moscow City Pedagogical University, and the Moscow State University of Psychology and Education. Academics can apply to become individual RERA members provided that a number of criteria are met, including the established requirements for the Hirsch Index, the number of publications indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, etc. RERA membership offers benefits ranging from preferential participation in conferences and seminars to access to grant competitions, academic journals and unique analytical datasets.
Established in 2009 in San Diego, California, WERA brings together national, regional and international associations aimed at advancing education research across areas and at all levels. WERA is committed to pursuing initiatives that are global in nature and thus extend beyond what any single association can accomplish in its own field or region of operation.
