A Cooperation Agreement has recently been signed between HSE and Politecnico di Milano (Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering) to jointly embark on a large-scale study titled, Efficiency, Performance and Impact of Higher Education Institutions (EPI). In accordance with the agreement, the IOE Laboratory for University Development will act as the principal R&D venue for this initiative, while Dr. Tommaso Agasisti, Associate Professor at Politecnico di Milano and one of Europe's most renowned experts in education economics, will take up overall project supervision.

IOE is soon to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation with Educational Testing Service, the world’s largest private organization in educational measurement and testing. During their recent visit to ETS Headquarters in Princeton (New Jersey, USA), IOE experts Elena Kardanova and Tatjana Kanonire met with their ETS colleagues to map out the overall scope of the upcoming cooperation and to negotiate preliminary plans in a number of specific areas.

This September, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between IOE and GlobalLab, a Russian-based venue for schoolers and teachers from across the globe to build L&D networks and collaborate on various educational and research projects online.

Russian Education Research Association (RERA) has started its membership in World Education Research Association (WERA). All formalities were completed and a membership decision was made during this year’s WERA Global Congress that was held in Cape Town, South Africa in early August.

On August 8–12, the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk hosted this year’s Finals of the WorldSkills Russia national competition of young professionals. As part of the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the HSE Institute of Education and WorldSkills Russia, marking an important new alliance for further advancing the national system of vocational education & training.

Dr. Mikhail G. Myagkov has recently joined IOE as a Lead Research Fellow at the Laboratory for Educational Data Science.

During the 2018 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum held last week, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between HSE, the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU), and Prosveshcheniye Education Holding. As part of the agreement, the two national research universities and Russia’s largest vendor of teaching and learning aids will jointly develop best-practice design and infrastructural solutions for school premises.

Russian Educational Research Association (RERA), where the HSE Institute of Education (IOE) is one of the founding members, has recently completed formalities to join European Educational Research Association (EERA).
