The 2017 International Summer School on Education and Development
We invite applications for the upcoming
2017 INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL ON EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT
Co-sponsored by the World Bank Education Global Practice and the HSE Institute of Education, the 2017 International Summer School will be hosted by China Institute for Educational Finance Research (CIEFR), Peking University, on JULY 2–7, 2017.
Primarily aimed at government officials and policymakers, the Summer School will become a dynamic learning and networking venue offering multi-prism, cross-border perspectives on best practices in educational finance, including the most innovative cooperation & funding endeavors, with a specific focus on relevant experience in China.
Agenda
The Summer School will cover the most vital matters that policymakers need to consider in designing and implementing visionary and robust resource allocation & investment strategies to foster educational – and hence – socioeconomic benefits at individual, community, and nation-wide levels. Specifically, the School’s Agenda will involve discussions within the following areas:
- Early Childhood Development and Early Education
- Skills and TVET
- Higher Education
- Innovations in Education Financing
- Public Private Partnerships
- Financing Compulsory Education
- Financing in Education: Challenges and Options
- How to Create Demand for Education (CCT and student loans)
- School Vouchers
Fees
Participation is free of charge. CIEFR will cover local costs attributable to attending School events and catering. Please note that travel & accommodation costs will be covered by participants.
