HSE Institute of Education and the Center for Strategic Research have come up with an all-round action plan for upgrading Russian education to bolster the country’s technological development and socio-economic growth.

IOE is soon to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation with Educational Testing Service, the world’s largest private organization in educational measurement and testing. During their recent visit to ETS Headquarters in Princeton (New Jersey, USA), IOE experts Elena Kardanova and Tatjana Kanonire met with their ETS colleagues to map out the overall scope of the upcoming cooperation and to negotiate preliminary plans in a number of specific areas.
This September, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between IOE and GlobalLab, a Russian-based venue for schoolers and teachers from across the globe to build L&D networks and collaborate on various educational and research projects online.
Early this August, a picturesque historic location of HSE’s ‘Kochubey Mansion’ Training Center in Saint Petersburg, Russia welcomed testing professionals from over a dozen countries for IOE’s Fifth International Summer School ‘Applied Psychometrics in Education and Psychology.’ Instruction in the School was given by world-renowned experts in measurements and test development: Dr. Linda Cook (The National Center for the Improvement of Assessment), Dr. Mary Pitoniak (Educational Testing Service), Dr. Carol Myford (University of Illinois at Chicago), and Dr. Lidia Dobria (Wilbur Wright College & University of Illinois at Chicago).
On August 8–12, the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk hosted this year’s Finals of the WorldSkills Russia national competition of young professionals. As part of the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the HSE Institute of Education and WorldSkills Russia, marking an important new alliance for further advancing the national system of vocational education & training.
This July, IOE welcomed the Second International Summer School ‘Inequality of Educational Opportunities.’ In 2018, the Summer School aimed to comprehensively address the most relevant scholarship frameworks that explore various factors and contexts of socioeconomic inequalities in education.
