The 4th Conference of Higher Education Research Association took place at the  University of Hong Kong at the end of May. Igor Chirikov, Leading Research Fellow at the Institute of Eduaction and Managing Director of the Student Experience in the Research University International Consortium (SERU-I), participated in it with a report, dubbed “The Impact of the Project to Boost Global Competition (5-100) on Structural Transformations in Russian Universities".

A new book “The New Flagship University: Changing the Paradigm from Global Ranking to National Relevancy”, edited by John Aubrey Douglass (Senior Research Fellow, University of California, Berkeley, USA), has recently been published by Palgrave Macmillan, a global academic publishing company, part of Macmillan Publishers.

The Annual Conference of The Consortium of higher education Researchers / CHER 28th Annual Conference took place in Lisbon, Portugal, on September 7-9. This year’s topic was ‘Global Challenges, National Initiatives, and Institutional Responses – The Transformation of Higher Education’. The participants discussed recent transformations in higher education: global challenges that the universities face, and the ways to cope with these challenges.

Research Group from Japan Visits HSE Institute of Education

A research group from Japan visited HSE Institute of Education on September 10. The delegation came to Moscow to study the reform of pedagogical education in Russia.
