HSE University has entered the top 100 universities in the Times Higher Education Rankings for Law and Social Sciences. For the first time, the university is also among the top 150 in the Education ranking and the top 200 in Business & Economics.

Educational Studies, a quarterly international peer-reviewed journal by HSE University, has made it into Scopus Quartile One.
The British Educational Research Association, BERA, has announced the winners of its Early Career Researchers Award, founded this year to recognize emerging researchers. The new award’s first two winners are Saule Bekova, Research Fellow at theInstitute of Education of the Centre of Sociology of Higher Education, and Binwei Lu of Durham University (UK). In the announcement, the organizing committee praised them as ‘outstanding scholars’ and noted the potential significance of their research for the field of education.
The HSE Institute of Education and Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University have recently entered into a cooperation to advance research and development across an array of domains in education.
Isak Froumin, Head of the HSE Institute of Education, has been elected a fellow of the International Academy of Education (IAE). Until now, its fellows had included only one scholar from Russia – Andrey Podolsky, formerly a department head at Moscow State University, and today, an HSE professor and department head at Innopraktika.

The ‘Educational Studies Moscow’ journal, a quarterly international publication by HSE University, now places in Q2 of the Scopus international academic abstracting and indexing database. This reflects the growing citation rates and impact of the journal on a global scale, while further confirming its status as the leading Russian publication in the field of education.
The HSE University has climbed three places year-on-year to list 110th in the newly released QS World University Rankings in ‘Education’ 2020, another all-time high for a Russian university in this subject area.
