In 2020, IOE was shortlisted as one of 21 venues worldwide to host this year’s guest Summer Schools held as part of the international Summer Institute in Computational Social Science (SICSS), an annual collaboration between Duke University and Princeton University.
We welcome proposals for this year’s round of the SemyonovAward internships for early-career scholars in higher education that are hosted by the IOE Laboratory for University Development. Submissions are open until March 20, 2020.
Submissions are now underway to our Annual International Summer School, ‘Education and Development,’ which is slated to take place on the IOE grounds in Moscow, Russia between July 6 and 10, 2020.
Ruoqi Cao, from Harbin, China, graduated from HSE University’s Master’s programme in International Business. She is now working on her PhD at the HSE Institute of Education, where her research focuses on regional contributions of higher education in Russia and China.

World-renowned edutainment expert and entrepreneur in extended L&D, Dr. Ger Graus, OBE has recently commenced his sojourn with IOE as a Guest Professor at the Center for General and Extracurricular Education. During his term, Dr. Graus will be contributing across multiple strands of the Center’s research and networking agenda.
Adam Gemar (U.S.) has recently begun his 12-month sojourn with the IOE Laboratory for Cultural Sociology and Anthropology of Education as part of the HSE International Postdoc Fellowship Program 2019. Coming from Fargo, North Dakota, Adam boasts premier credentials in socio-economic and cultural studies that he has earned from leading U.S. and UK institutions, including Yale University, London School of Economics and Durham University. He completed his doctoral degree earlier this year. One of the key areas of Adam’s research is educational inequality.
Between August 5 and 10, the Sixth International Summer School ‘Applied Psychometrics in Psychology and Education’ took place at IOE.
As part of its exchange program with Politecnico di Milano, IOE will be welcoming a group of Italian students in Management Dell’Università MA in the coming fall of 2019 who will be taking an intensive two-day sojourn in Moscow beginning October 23. In turn, Russian students in IOE’s University Management MA will be traveling to Italy later this November to complete a series of program modules at Politecnico di Milano.
