The 45th annual conference of the Philosophy of Education Society of Australasia (PESA) had a chance to listen to a report from Russia. It was made by IoE researcher Petr Safronov.

A new book “The New Flagship University: Changing the Paradigm from Global Ranking to National Relevancy”, edited by John Aubrey Douglass (Senior Research Fellow, University of California, Berkeley, USA), has recently been published by Palgrave Macmillan, a global academic publishing company, part of Macmillan Publishers.

The 16th Annual AEA-Europe conference, dedicated to the Assessment and Social Justice, was held in Glasgow on November 4-8. Over 300 participants took part in the event this year.

On 4th - 7th November the annual conference of the Association for the Study of Higher Education, ASHE took place in Denver, Colorado. Incorporated in 1976 ASHE is the oldest professional association in higher education studies and has more than 2,000 members, mostly Americans.

The X international conference «Russian regions in the focus of changes», organized by Ural Federal University, featured an international symposium. Dubbed “The Role of Regional Higher Education Systems in Regional Development”, it was conducted last Friday in cooperation with the HSE Institute of Education.

The world leader among academic publishers, SAGE Publications issued a collection of research papers, titled ‘Leading Futures. Global Perspectives on Educational Leadership’. Academic supervisors of the book are Alma Harris and Michelle S. Jones at the Institute of Educational Leadership, University of Malaya, Malaysia.

Professor Martin Carnoy of Stanford University and visiting professor at the Higher School of Economics, and Tatiana Khavenson, Research Fellow at the HSE Institute of Education, were among the authors of the report ‘An Analysis of the Impact of Education Policies on Student Achievement in the United States’, which was recently presented in Washington, DC. The key provisions of this report are of use when it comes to analyzing the situation in Russian education.

On October 29th, 2015, an open discussion on ‘The Real Way to Personalized Education’ was held at the HSE Institute of Education. It belonged to the series of HSE joint events with the ‘Theory and Practice’ educational project as part of the evening cultural programme of the Open Innovations 2015 Forum.

A collective article by Nadezda Bysik, Katsiaryna Kukso, Natalia Isaeva, Nadezhda Evstigneeva and others has been published in the Asia Pacific Journal of Education. The issue is dedicated to the first results of the international comparative research ‘7 System Leadership Study’.
